I've been walking the fells since I was a young lad and painting pictures for around the same length of time, but it's only in the last few years that I've seriously combined the two. My inspiration is the mountains and what people do on them.
I use oils almost exclusively for my finished paintings and acrylic or watercolour for sketches. My style tends to be 'imprecise' which, I hope, reflects the terrain. Painting sizes range from small to, er, big, depending on how I feel when I set up the easel. Unlike most things in life, painting allows you to do what you want, how you want to do it. There's no right way and if someone else likes it as well then so much the better.
