I was born in Wales, and moved to Cumbria of late, so have always lived and been inspired by some of this nation's greatest scenery. My images are usually simple, often have strong contrasts, and are finely detailed, and I hope make a strong impact. I am a huge fan of one the great pioneers in photography - Ansel Adams, but equally enjoy Edwin Smith, Bob Carlos Clarke and David Bailey. Now settled in West Cumbria with my family, I take every opportunity to explore the great outdoors, of course not forgetting to take the camera along too! With this inspiration, I started Fell View Photography, as a project, it is relatively young, but as a concept the idea has always been with me since training at NEWI College of Art and Design nearly twenty years ago. I have always found a fascination with landscapes, and have travelled near and far to capture my favourite views. Since moving to Cumbria, and having admired the contrasting light and aspects of the area, I am now able to concentrate my work here in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
